I lived at Charles IV – 2920 Victoria Ave for six years and it was great!
The apartment is in a great location if you don’t have a car, or are interested in driving less. I worked downtown so being able to walk to work, and not pay for parking, was a huge benefit. It’s also convenient to be within walking distance of Safeway on 13th Ave, the Cornwall Centre, and the social/nightlife options in Cathedral and downtown. The suites are bright and well-maintained with well-laid-out floor plans. It’s a quiet building. A large bedroom, a deep tub and a balcony help make it feel more luxurious without having to pay executive suite prices. All the staff at MKCC are great at looking after the building. The minor maintenance things I noticed were dealt with quickly and professionally.

I’ve currently lived in one of MKCC’s properties in the Cathedral neighborhood for 4+ years. My experience has been beyond my expectations and quite frankly the best management I’ve dealt with in my 20 years of renting. The suites are renovated, modern and extremely clean. Management is very pleasant and all issues are dealt with immediately. I’ve also found that all fellow tenants have been respectful, quiet and friendly. I would highly recommend renting through this company to anyone!

When I was looking for an apartment to rent 5 years ago, I was looking for the right location (Cathedral area), and I wanted a comfortable apartment at fair market price. I had a look at a well-maintained older building, under the MKCC banner. (It was built around 1970, and I like buildings of that era.) The apartment (which had been refurbished) was light and airy, with very good kitchen appliances. In my interview with Marcia (of MKCC), I had the impression that she would stay “in touch” and that building maintenance would be a top priority. I have never been disappointed. I have enjoyed my 5 years in the building.

I have been a tenant with MKCC Properties for 7 years. I have found them to be an excellent landlord. The building is clean and well kept. They clean the hallways weekly and snow removal in the winter is prompt and consistent. They communicate very well while respecting my privacy.
I especially appreciate how concerned they are about the condition of the building. They fix things when they go wrong. One time, I mentioned that my bathtub drain was moving slowly, and they told me not to use a bunch of drain cleaner because it damages the pipes. They sent someone to snake my drain the next day!

I am a busy professional who chooses to rent instead of own. For over four years, I have lived in two of MKCC’s properties. My experiences have been consistent in both: reasonable rents, desirable neighbourhoods, well-maintained properties, and a responsive and friendly property manager. MKCC makes my busy life so much easier: I live in a nice home that is located in Cathedral within walking distance from downtown, and that requires minimum maintenance on my part.
